"Service is itself
supreme" with this motto, one of the
greatest social reformer Late. Vitthal Ramji
Shinde's name was given to the educational
Institute in Gadhinglaj on 24th May 1973.
The Sanstha named 'Karmveer Vitthal Ramji
Shinde Shikshan Sanstha' kept not only education
as its motto but also of the all round development
and started functioning on the same day.
Prof. Kisanrao Kurade, Prof. Anandrao Nale,
Prof. Tukaram Patil, Prof. J.Y.Bardeskar,
Prof. Chandake, Prof. Powar came together
with the view to provide best education facilities
for the students of border area of Karnataka
and Maharashtra. The then M.P of Kolhapur,
Late. Balasaheb Mane was honored the chairmanship.
The Sanstha took over the 'Shivraj College'
at Gadhinglaj run by Tararani Vidyapeeth
formerly. Majority of People supported the
take-over
Initially the college
has only two wings. Arts and Commerce, but
keeping in mind that Science is the third
pillar, the Sanstha started it in 1983. Eventually
M.A., M.COM, M.B.A., were started. The college
also started Nursing, Library Science, Balawadi
Teacher's Training for instant employment.
The college now has become the educational
centre for Gadhinglaj, Ajara and Chandgad
The Sanstha has also started a Marathi Medium
School from 8th to 10th along with a English
Medium school from K.G. to 10th. The total
area of the college is 14 acres. The college
has a R.C.C. structured building of 50 classrooms.
The library is very rich with 50,000 plus
books.
The Managing Committee
is having the urge of social work. The present
President of the Institute Honorable Kisanrao
Kurade has the potentially of controlling
and orator ship. He has been inspiring the
college and the whole surrounding.
On this platform now
the Sanstha has decided to fly¬over.
The Sanstha has started various technical
wings keeping in mind the educational needs
of the day, which was available only in the
big cities.
The college has a well equipped computer lab with 100 machines. The staff is
well skilled and qualified. The future is brilliant by all means.
