Shri. V. T. Patil,
the President of Tararani Vidyapeeth,
is the founding father of Shivraj
College of Arts & Commerce.
The objectives before him were o provide
higher educational facilities to the
educationally backward areas of Gadhinglaj,
Ajara and Chandgad. Our
college was inaugurated at the hands of
Balasaheb Desai the then
Minister of Education, the Government
of Maharashtra in Maharani
Radhabai High school, Gadhinglaj on June,
26 th 1964.

In
1967 Shri. V. T. Patil and Dr. S. S. Ghali
approached the concerned
farmers and appealed them to give away
their land for the academic infrastructure.
The concerned farmers agreed to transfer
their land to Shivraj
College with just a
token amount. Their solemn sacrifice
is beyond the
level of verbal expression.
In the
year 1974 Shivraj College was
handed over to Karmveer Vitthal Ramaji
Shinde Shikshan Sanstha, Gadhinglaj. Hon. Shri.
Balasaheb alias R. S.
Mane, the President of Karmveer
Vitthal Ramaji Shinde Shikshan Sanstha,
Gadhinglaj gave the dynamic leadership
to this institute. He tried his best to
fulfill the educational needs of the students
of this area by introducing the faculty
of Science both at Junior and Senior College
level. Shri. D. S. Kadam then Vice-president
donated Rs. Two Lac to meet the expenses
of the faculty of Science. Hon. Shri. Balasaheb
alias R. S. Mane, Shri. D. S. Kadam concentrated
on the construction of new buildings. The
foundation stone of the new building was
laid at the hands of Hon. Yashavantrao
Chavan and Hon. Vasantdada
Patil the then Chief Minister
of Maharashtra.
Prof.
K. V. Kurade has been the founder
member of Karmveer Vitthal Ramaji Shinde
Shikshan Sanstha, Gadhinglaj. Right from
his youth, he was keen on getting the
support of his friends and guidance of
student's e.g. Dr. A.G. Powar, Barr.
P. G. Patil and the then Home minister
of Maharashtra Balasaheb Desai. During
the phase of transition he devoted himself
to make Karmveer Vitthal Ramaji Shinde
Shikshan Sanstha, Gadhinglaj as a mass
movement. His contribution in the field
of Co-operation is marvelous. His Dynamism,
foresight and commitment to the cause
of higher education are reflected in
the policies of our Sanstha. Under his
guidance our institution has started
the professional courses - B.Sc.
(Computer Science), B.
C. S. and B. B. A. Also,
the institute has proposed to start a
degree course in Bio -Technology, Information
- technology and B. C. A. Our
secretary Dr. Mansingrao Jagtap has been
a self-disciplined academician and the
Principal of repute.
