YASHWANTRAO CHAVAN MAHARASHTRA OPEN UNIVERSITY (YCMOU) STUDY CENTER

          Maharashtra has a long rich tradition of educational reforms. Jyotiba Phule, Panjabrao Deshmukh, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bahurao Patil, Swami Ramanand Teerth and other great thinkers and reformers have contributed to educational philosophy and movement. It was therefore approriate that the state realized the need of an Open University. The University was established on 1st July 1989 of the Maharashtra state Legislature and justly was named after Yashwantrao Chavan, Maharashtra's great educational thinker, Political leader and builder of modern Maharashtra. The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) has its headquarters at Nashik, the University at present offers so many programs of study to a cumulative strengths making, it is the largest University in Maharashtra.

          YCMOU study Center at Shivraj College, Gadhinglaj was established in 2005 to cater the needs of highest education through distance learning for entire Gadhinglaj, Ajara and Chandgad talukas. At present postgraduate program is offered at the center.

          The YCMOU study Center at Shivraj College also serves as a nodle center for YCMOU programs. The information regarding MBA is available.

Karmveer Vitthal Ramaji Shinde Shikshan Santha's has provided infrastructure for and operates Gadhinglaj study center of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik. This is extremely useful arrangement for working people, housewives and students as well as, who want to improve their educational qualifications but are unable to attend regular classes.

 

THE M.B.A. PROGRAMME

          The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Program was launched by the University in the academic year 1994-95. It is intended for in service persons who wish to achieve senior management positions.

 

AIMS

The aims of the M. B. A. Program are

To help practicing managers become more effective decision makers in their fields by updatingtheir knowledge and managerial skills

To enable the managers develop their skills of critical analysis, logical thinking and creative imagination.

To enable the managers make independent judgments in the analysis and resolution of complex managerial problems.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the M. B. A. program is open to all citizens of India living in Maharashtra State who satisfy the following conditions.

In service candidates who have passed a Bachelors Degree examination with minimum 45% marks and have work experience of 2 years as Junior Executive or in a superior cadre (The condition of marks will be relaxed by 5% in case of reserve categories). Selection is made through an entrance examination conducted at the officially recognized M. B. A. study center of YCMOU.

 

DURATION

The minimum duration for completion of the M. B. A. program is 3 academic years and the maximum duration is 8 years.

 

THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The candidate who want to take admission to the M.B.A. program will have to appear for and show sufficient level of competition and aptitude in the "Entrance Examination" conducted by the University.

The program is divided into three years.

 4 Accounting and finance for managers
 5 Management of Machines and materials
 6 Marketing for managers
 7 Information management and compute

 

At the second year seven subjects.

 1 Quantitative Analysis for managerial Application
 2 Managerial Economics
 3 Organizational design, development and change
 4 Research methodology for management decisions.

At the third year five subjects.
